In a World of Compromise, Some Don't. The Model HK45 is outfitted with an outstanding 5.16�� cold hammer forged polygonal rifled barrel, which increases accuracy, muzzle velocity and barrel life. Machined from solid billet steel, the slide and metal parts wear HKs proprietary �Hostile Environment� finish.

This is essentially a black oxide coating that is highly corrosion and wear resistant against just about everything. Another important feature is the patented recoil system that make this gun extremely soft shooting.

The frame and grip on HK45's fiber re-enforced polymer make it one of the toughest handguns in history. From the checkering on the front strap-- to its ergonomic grip geometry-- the unique frame was specifically designed to fit the shooters hand like a glove.

This is accomplished through HK's revolutionary interchangeable backstraps which allow the shooter to replace the rear panel of the frame and effectively changes the trigger pull distance. Three sizes are included in small, medium, and large.

The HK45 is one of the most well crafted and beautifully designed pistols ever made. In fact, the gun will easily and reliably feed all known hollow point ammunition. An integral Picatinny rail allows the shooter to easily attach tactical accessories such as a light and/or laser. The ambidextrous extended slide release operates effortlessly.

An advanced polymer frame is stronger than steel of the same dimensions, where the gun is fairly lightweight-- weighing in at only 31.2 ounces unloaded. Its surface texture and integral finger grooves provides positive traction and greatly improve overall performance and control when firing.

The 3- dot tritium night sights are low profile and get on target extremely well. Front and rear cocking serrations allows for easy slide manipulation-- from racking a round in the chamber to safely performing press checks.

The magazines are very well made and sport a black finished steel body. A pair of 10- rounders are included with the package. Unlike many double stack magazines on the market, they are fairly easy to load.

HK was the first to develop a magazine release that is part of the trigger guard and the HK45�s paddle style release allows the magazine to easily drop free. The pistol also has a flair in the magazine well that greatly enhances the reloading process.
