A Legend Returns. We're proud to once again offer the time tested Colt 1911 Government Model Delta Elite chambered for 10mm. Colt was one of the original pioneers in adapting the cartridge, and the first to successfully manufacture a 10mm caliber pistol in the United States.

Built by American craftsmen, this winning combination of an 8 + 1 capacity full size handgun with 10mm ballistics marks the return of the Delta Elite. The Colt Delta Elite 10mm 1911 serves well as a hunting pistol for medium-sized game such as deer and hogs, and could also serve for protection from large carnivores such as bear.

At the heart of the design lies a CNC machined forged stainless steel slide, frame and slide stop. A semi- extended beavertail grip safety allow the shooter to get up higher on the bore axis, thereby reducing felt recoil, providing greater control and minimizing the possibility of slide bite.

In its originally intended form, the 10mm delivers near .41 Remington Magnum ballistics. While the Delta Elite may not provide the high capacity seen in other 10mm's like the Glock Model 20, it more that makes up for it by nature of its highly ergonomic single stack frame design.

It points naturally, is tack driving accurate, has a smooth single action trigger and most importantly, shares the two safety feature (thumb + grip) found on all true 1911 pistols. This provides unrivaled security and handling peace of mind.

The Delta Elite uses a dual-spring recoil system that helps eliminate battering on the frame, slide and guide rod when shooting high performance ammunition. The newest edition of the Colt Delta Elite is true to the original design, with a forged stainless steel frame, arched mainspring housing, slide, slide stop, and 5" barrel. The sides of the frame, hammer, and slide have a satin polished finish. The rest of the pistol has a bead-blasted finish.

The grip panels are checkered synthetic rubber with distinct Delta Medallions. The Colt Delta Elite has a Series 80 firing pin safety to prevent discharge if the weapon is dropped on its muzzle.

The pistol has a single-sided, extended thumb safety and a skeletonized hammer. The firing pin safety is what Colt refers to as Series '80 that should hopefully bring the shooter peace of mind. If the gun is ever dropped or banged, this feature prevents an unintentional discharge.

In fact, the only way the pistol can be fire is if the shooter depresses the grip safety and then pulls the trigger rearward underneath a full cocked hammer. Unlike the Series '70, this gun will not fire from a half-cock position.

The Novak-style, three-dot sights are not adjustable for elevation correction, but the rear sight can be drifted in its dovetail for windage correction. Together, these features combine to give the Colt Delta Elite an extraordinary blend of proven capability, endurance and a classic appearance that is sure to appeal to the handgun enthusiast and retro collector alike.
