The Smith and Wesson Model 27 is one of the longest running models from the industry giant and has spawned many other notable revolvers in its storied history, showing the true strength and ingenuity of the design. Originally extremely popular as a police sidearm for it's accuracy and reliability, it was later developed as the original host for the then-new .44 Remington Magnum Model 29 for the same reasons. Smith & Wesson also released many other N-Frame .357's, such as the 327 and 627 that hold 8 rounds in the cylinder, but the Model 27 Classic holds 6 rounds, as it always has.
