Summary:

 
Course Requirements: 4- hours of classroom instruction plus handgun proficiency (the shooting test). Champion Firearms price for the CHL course is now only $50-
  • Range Qualification- (Average time is 1- hour) Safety debriefing, testing protocols, with shooting test
  • Classroom- (4- Hours) Deadly force, dispute resolution & laws related to carry

 

 
State License Application- it is very important to read and understand the following (�click� title and then go to page): Eligibility& Fees.
  • Please make sure that you�re first eligible to receive a license, understand the fees involved, and then Click Here to submit your license application as soon as possible. 

 

 
Fingerprints- will be required for all new applicant's, even if you have been previously fingerprinted by another government agency in the past:
  • Please Note: neither CHL instructors nor law enforcement agencies are allowed to take fingerprints for a concealed handgun license application.
  • All fingerprints must be taken by the official Texas DPS designate "L1 Identity Solutions.
  • Also Note / Reminder: Submitting your license application first (see above) is a prerequisite to schedule your fingerprint appointment.

 

 
Passport Photos- are no longer required for those who already have a Texas I.D. or Texas D.L. (DPS will use your existing photo). In fact, the DPS will not accept passport photos from you if they already have your pics on file. 
 
Champion Firearms will continue to provide passport photos (free of charge) to all students that do not currently have a Texas license photo on file.
  
 
Know How to Shoot- instructors are prohibited from teaching CHL students how to shoot as part of this course.
  • For shooting lessons, we have friendly and knowledgeable instructors on staff that you may hire prior to taking the course.  

 

 
Loaner Handgun- will be provided at no additional cost as part of Champion Firearms CHL course.
  • Special Note- it is very important that you know how to safely operate the loaner handgun before the shooting test and please do not hesitate to ask for assistance.
  • We also provide a free range practice session the day of your scheduled shooting test ("handgun proficiency"), and invite every enrolled student to take advantage of this opportunity.
