Going Green. The Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II now includes a set of factory installed green laser grips. The answer is fairly straightforward as the human eye has the natural ability to see green better than red, making the sight easier to acquire on a target under any light condition. As such, green lasers appear brighter because the human eye is more sensitive to the shorter wavelength of green light than those produced at the red end of the spectrum.
This not only applies to low light, but during bright sunny conditions as well. Where red lasers typically disappear in sunlight after only a few yards, green lasers are still visible well beyond any practical handgun self- defense shooting distance. However, because green lasers require additional steps to manufacture properly, they are also more expensive to produce.
The Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II has an excellent set of low profile iron sights to go along with the Crimson Trace laser grips. The rear surfaces of both the front and rear sights are serrated to reduce glare, and are drift-adjustable for windage correction.
